North Market: Creating Partnerships with Purpose

This E-Case tells the story of Pillsbury United Communities (PUC) and the organizations journey to open North Market, a grocery store in North Minneapolis. The E-Case shows the multifaceted way in which PUC developed the store; through Human Centered Design and working to best serve the needs of residents, of having a vision and making it come to life through good design and planning and through partnerships who filled in the gaps that the organization could not fill on their own. By thinking strategically as an organization what they could do to fill the needs of the community the idea of North Market was born. However in the same vein, PUC also thought about what the capacity of their organization was and what they felt they could not do. The result was a formation of dozens of partners who gave time and capital to come alongside PUC to create North market.
