E-Case

Using Collective Impact to Improve Student Success

This e-case tells the story of the beginnings, development, and launch of a program to support the success of students in the Itasca County area of northern Minnesota. The Itasca Area Initiative for Student Success (IAISS) is a collaboration of the region’s educational institutions, child and family support agencies, and the Blandin Foundation. The story of the development of the Pathway provides valuable lessons in community organizing to address complex, community-wide issues and the role that foundations can play in this process.
